Dawanggang is a musical ensemble created by Song Yuzhe, an eclectic musician from the North East of China. While the name Dawanggang has no other meaning than what you see above, the content of the music reaches far and broad, from nomadic themes of Western China to broad experimental lines, touching on folk tales and giving a big sense of space. The band is of flexible composition and wants to bring together musicians from all sorts of musical, cultural, ethnical backgrounds so as to reach beyond differences and create new musical dimensions.
Dawanggang also collaborates with the Tinderbox Orchestra in their Fringe show from 5th-7th of August in the Tinderbox Grand Hall.
Housekind
Originally from the edge of the Atlantic Ocean in South-West Donegal (Ireland), Shea Martin of Housekind is a singer-songwriter, community artist, and performer based in Edinburgh. Their music has been described as 'trad-inspired folk with indie undertones, built on poetically-told stories. A journey through a world equal parts cosy, uncanny and mysterious'
Housekind also collaborates with the Tinderbox Orchestra in their Fringe show on the 10th + 12th of August in the Tinderbox Grand Hall.
