Two months ago we finished the project From the SUR that explores dances and music from South America, particularly of the Orixas, Cumbia and Festejo, focusing on the Black and Indigenous heritage of this music and dances. In addition, the project considered the building and painting of the instrument called Cajon, using upcycled piano components provided by our partners of Pianodrome, as well as the design and crafting of our costumes together. The project finished with a performance where we shared what we learnt. If you couldn´t be with us at that moment now is your opportunity to see what is the SUR about. From the SUR was funded by the Diversity and Inclusión funds 2022 from the Edinburgh Cuncil, and was run in a partnership with Pianodrome.
