Jamie Cook is an Edinburgh based folk musician. He began his musical journey as a teenager in the folk clubs of his native Cumbria, watching, listening and joining in using a plethora of different instruments that he taught himself through a joyful willingness to make a lot of noise.
Jamie sings a mixture of traditional ballads, contemporary pieces and his own writings. He is always trying to find the overlap between his love of folk music and his joy in modern queer pop.
Over successive years Jamie has studied music as well as the art of lutherie, and several of the instruments he plays were crafted by himself. He has worked on community music projects, most recently in the Edinburgh Children’s Hospital, and has run songwriting meetups with friends.
