Matt Wright

Creative Producer | Co-Director

Matt is a musician, science communicator and creative producer, with a passion for bringing people together to create exciting, collaborative projects which have positive cultural impacts. As co-founder of Edinburgh’s open-access community workshop The Forge and saxophonist in the improvisation-led trio S!nk, the idea to build an in-the-round amphitheatre made entirely from pianos seemed like an irresistible synthesis.

Since co-founding Pianodrome Community Interest Company in 2017 Matt has guided their projects from idea to reality, collaborating with hundreds of artists, makers, volunteers and organisations to generate enriching spaces and exciting events.

“Creative communities can thrive if they have space, inspiration and collaboration. I love turning unwanted pianos into interactive sculptures and performance spaces, creating places for people to play, to share ideas and to be together, and then activating hem by inviting people in.”
