Pavlina Gusheva

Friday 1 Jul 1pm Free Entry

American born Bulgarian pianist Pavlina Gusheva started her piano journey with lessons at age four after she showed marked interest and reverence toward the piano the family had at home. Later Pavlina was accepted into Bulgaria’s National Music School in Sofia where she studied for seven years. At age 13 Pavlina and her mother relocated to Edinburgh so she could attend at St Mary’s Music School. Here she studied piano with Helena Buckmayer until her completion earlier this year.

Pavlina now 18 years old, has participated and been a laureate at several national and international competitions over the years.

Although solo performing and chamber music will be the focus of her further conservatoire studies in Germany, her curiosity and fascination with the craft of music are never-ending. She is keen to teach and compose, as well as explore the world of modern music production.

As well as spending most of her free time listening to music, and playing the instrument, Pavlina always finds herself seeking new experiences, both socially and emotionally, which feed her imagination in her music. She finds visual art a crucial outlet and is fascinated with the endless ways of expressing human emotions, whether it be by movement, clothing, painting or photography.
